Frequently Asked Questions

What Red Sea routes does Deco Divers offer? +

Deco Divers offers six Red Sea liveaboard routes aboard the Legacy: North! (Hurghada-area wrecks and reefs including the Thistlegorm), Southbound (central Red Sea reefs), North & Brothers (offshore pinnacles), BDE (Brothers, Daedalus, Elphinstone — the classic pelagic route), Deep South (remote southern reefs), and Elba (the far south, including Rocky Island and Zabargad).

Which route is best for shark diving in the Red Sea? +

The BDE route — Brothers, Daedalus, and Elphinstone — is the premier shark-diving itinerary. Oceanic whitetip sharks are regularly encountered at Big Brother and Elphinstone, while hammerheads are commonly seen at all three sites. The Deep South route also offers excellent encounters at Rocky Island and Zabargad.

What liveaboard does Deco Divers use? +

Deco Divers operates aboard the Legacy liveaboard, departing from Hurghada. Legacy is a well-equipped dive vessel with comfortable cabins, a full dive deck, and an experienced crew. Full schedules and availability are published at legacyliveaboards.com.

What experience level is needed for Red Sea liveaboards? +

Most routes require at least PADI Advanced Open Water certification and 30–50 logged dives. The BDE and Deep South routes involve deeper diving and stronger currents and are better suited to experienced divers with 100+ logged dives. Contact Deco Divers to find the right route for your experience level.
